સોરઠી બહારવટિયા માં તેર બહારવટિયાના વૃતાન્તો છે અને એ પણ તેઓની કાળી-ઉજળી બંને બાજુની, મળી શકે તેટલા તમામ ઘટના-પ્રસંગોની રજૂઆત કરવાનો આશય છે. ભવિષ્યના કોઈ ઇતિહાસકાર માટે આ એક માર્ગદર્શન રચાય છે. રાજ્સત્તાઓના દફતરોમાં ફક્ત એકપક્ષી અને તે પણ નજીવોજ ઈતિહાસ છે, લોકકંઠની પરંપરામાં બહુરંગી ને છલોછલ ઈતિહાસ છે. પ્રજા માર ખાતી, લુંટાતી, પીડાતી છતાં તેમની જવામાંર્દી ન વીસરતી. એ હત્યારાઓની નેકી પણ આફરીન હતી. બહારવટિયાની કતલના હાર્દમાં રહેલી વિલક્ષણ ધર્મનીતિ એની દ્રષ્ટિમાં જાદુ આંજતી માટે પ્રજાએ એ મહત્તાની ચિરંજીવી મુખાનોન્ધ રાખી લીધી.
